but nooooo, im not a mia!! im a TIA!!! (totally in action) hahaha. reason? matchbox twenty returned for a THIRD show, and this time, i KNEW!! they advertised it on tv 2 days before the event.

i spent the whole night last night with...*drum roll please* MATCHBOX TWENTY!!!!!! hahaha. they were SOOOO good i tell you!! i'll post the opening song and u can compare his voice here to the original recording. he (ROB THOMAS) is just amazing!! the rest of the band is as well! ♫♫

well, u can tell they're THAT great from the fact that on their third show, the stadium was JUST AS FULL! they're just way way way good. so worth the money!! (thats what my sis and i thought the minute we stepped out of the arena)
oh, must tell the story of how i came about to go see MATCHBOX TWENTY (greatest band in the world! haha)
as i mentioned, i saw the advert for matchbox's third show on tv 3 nights before...and i was SOOOO excited. at least i knew they were coming, right?? so my sis kinda knew i wanted to go so badly lah (cos i kept saying i LOOOVE rob thomas and how i loved matchbox twenty since i was a stupid pri skl girl, LOL) and...omigawd, bless her heart, she did THE greatest thing in the world! haha, what else?
well, she chose a VERY good time to break the news...when i was in my math 2 lecture. received a text that went 'you're going matchbox tonight. bring a friend, or i'd go with u' hehe. i almost ALMOST screamed in class ok! lols. but i kept in under control and just squeaked uncontrollably. haha. think my friend almost wanted to choke me.
so, it was held at Rod Laver Arena. where all the tennis happens, and their opening act was....THIRSTY MERC. i had ZERO IDEA who thirsty merc was. but then they played the song '20 good reasons' n i'm like...oohhhh. well, to those who do not know, 20 good reasons is a SUPERB song. they're an aussie band, and apparently all their songs are really really good. oh they sounded good live as well! that's what i like =)
oh, one thing i was SOOOO annoyed about, was the guy in front of me!! i think in all my video frames, u can see an elbow pop out of nowhere, an arm or...worse...a butt. lols. but no butts, i think. heh. well it was annoying lah. but i think he did the right thing. we shouldn't have been sitting there the whole time!! i know i felt pretttyyy dormant there. so stewwpid! should've got down and boogied!! dang.
one thing i SOOOOO loved: matchbox twenty played ALL my favourite songs!!!!!! i was so afraid (prior to entering the arena) that they'd play all their new songs from 'Exile on Mainstream' cos i hadn't downloaded it bah (sorry, too kiam to buy) plus i had 1 day's notice till the event. so i couldn't prepare by brainwashing myself with their songs. lol. but LO AND BEHOLD, they played all their ultimate best songs!!! and luckily most of the new songs they played, i knew. hehe. like 'How Far We've Come', 'All Your Reasons'.
they even played my ringtone!! which is 'Downfall'...also, Bent', 'Disease', 'Could I Be You', 'Hand Me Down', 'If You're Gone' and others lah. lols. they saved...'UNWELL' and 'PUSH' for last! omigosh those, can hear EVERYBODY singing along. soooo cool! well, the most amusing was one of the encore songs. they sang.....KYLIE MINOGUE'S can't get u out of my head! hahaha. SO funny! but it was danged good lah. of course, nth else short of SPECTACULAR can be expected of MATCHBOX TWENTY!! sigh. im so happy =) =) oh but was a liiiitle disappointed they didn't play 'Rest Stop'. kept hoping (during the encore) that the nxt song would be it. or the nxt song. or the nxt song. but when they started playing 'Push', i so knew that wouldn't be the case. =( hahaha but nevermind! there's always nxt time (hehe!!)
well, all in all, the show was GREAT! of course, of course. it's like any typical ang moh style concert lah. lols. not fancy pancy like jay chou's or smt. haha. no artsy costumes and elaborate dance moves. just them, t-shirts and jeans, and the instruments, and ROB THOMAS'S VOICE. haha. but like Rob Thomas said, 'forget about the lights, its ALL ABOUT THE MUSIC! so let's go play more music and shit'. hahaha.
more about the band, they're just the greatest, most united band i've ever seen! no1 short of talent either! rob thomas may be the great voice contributing to matchbox, but even the guitarist, kyle cook, can sing as well! he did a whole singing segment and we all thought it was rob thomas...until we were told it wasn't him lah. lols! of course, rob thomas is the voice/pianist. paul doucette, former drummer and current bassist wrote songs for the band. which song, i forgot. LOL. think it was 'Could I Be You'. well, the drummer's the drummer. HAHA. write his name lah. ryan maclillan =)
oh my goodness, how could i EVER forget to mention, they played 'LONG DAY'!!! i SO almost cried when i heard it. ok no, that was for the song 'Could I Be You'. haha. well, Long Day's like their 1st song from their 1st debut album in 1996. =D it's just...sigh. so good.

aaaarrrrrggggghhhhh. one thing i ABSOLUTELY hate about cold weather: messed up eating habits. seriously, i feel like a carnivorous rabbit every minute of everyday! all i do is munch, munch, munch and snack, snack, snack all day long in front of the tv.
somehow i think having bad eating habits prior to studying in some cold country is kinda a prerequisite to not killing yourself when you get home at the end of the year? haha. undoubtedly the pounds will just PACK ON. dang. that's kinda...sad....
well, this is the time when i say I MISS SUMMER! despite the gigantuous fat flies and the stinging scorching sun, at least i eat WAYYY WAYYYY less than i do now. haha. ok i take that back =S

you know those adverts on tv that are just...silly? e.g. 'the cheat meter'...send ur name and ur lover's name to check if they're cheating. haha. like...whattt??? i wonder if people actually bother doing it?...evidently, people do...they actually have the money to advertise it. =S kinda pity the guys/girls wrongly accused of cheating just from a silly text message.
oh, plus you can text ur name and they'd send you the 1st name of your soulmate as well! wowwwww. wad if u noe 5 guys of the same name leh? haha. trial and error =D
btw, i have no idea why saturday mornings/afternoons are just...filled with annoying adverts lah. so annoyed now! =S the sad thing is that there are only 3 channels to watch here. so far, i've gone through the GO GO DUSTER advert TWICE, the cheat meter, the matchmaking, the AB KING PRO ('do you want those shexy abs?' they say)...think i'm slowly being brainwashed by them. haha. one day i'm gonna call up and order the ab king pro (i DO want those shexy abs! ok no, cos those are jz sick on girls), the magic magnetic duster that can obliterate any traces of dust from each crook and cranny, get my future husband's name and then test if he's gonna cheat on me in the future =S

so, the point is, i'm going to see stereophonics! for fear of them being too old to travel come 5 years later and never being able to go on tour again, so, at least i can say i saw stereophonics back when they weren't dead!!! =D =D i am happy =)
